Fifteen years later, Adolph Hirsch, a former director of Schenley Distillers, stumbled upon this exceptional batch. Recognizing its outstanding quality after aging for 15 years, he acquired all 400 barrels, resulting in a mere 4,244 cases, and bestowed upon it his own name.
