The exclusive Scottish barley used for crafting Aberlour Single Malt Whisky undergoes a malting process for about a week before it’s dried in an unpeated kiln. The dried barley is then crushed and mixed with water from St. Drostan’s Well.

This water source, named after a missionary from the 6th century, has served the distillery for over a hundred years. Once mashed, the barley undergoes fermentation, followed by a double distillation in Aberlour’s copper-pot stills. These stills, with their wide bases and swan-like necks, ensure maximum heat exposure and the capture of the purest vapors.

The Aberlour 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky goes through maturation in a mix of American oak casks formerly housing bourbon, and European oak casks previously filled with Oloroso sherry. Oloroso, a dark, nutty fortified wine, infuses the whisky with faint yet distinct hints of dried fruits, caramel, plums, and cherries, adding a new depth of complexity.

The matured Aberlour 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky greets you with a lavish aroma of raisins, prunes, and figs. This aroma transitions into a flavor profile featuring toasted almonds, red fruits (especially plums), and baking spices. The finish leaves a warm, spicy aftertaste, lingering with hints of honeyed oak, ginger, and citrus.

With its well-deserved Double Gold Medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and a Gold Medal from the World Whiskies Awards in 2017, the Aberlour 16 Year Old is a must-have addition to your collection. Get your bottle today!
