The Amrut Single Cask PX Sherry cask #2701 was distilled in June 2009 and bottled in August 2013, making it a 4-year-old whisky. This relatively young age is due to India’s hot and humid climate, which accelerates the ageing process.
Taste Notes:
The whisky is described as having a “big sherried nose” with notes of sweet syrup, soaked raisins, and a hint of rubber. The palate is overwhelmingly sweet, heavy, and concentrated with sherry and soaked raisins. When diluted with water, the whisky reveals hidden notes of spices, oak, and chocolate-filled cherry. The finish is of medium length, with lingering sherry notes and, when diluted, oak wood and spices.
Distillery:
Amrut is one of the two known single malt whisky producers in India. The distillery rarely ages their whisky for more than 4 years due to the high rate of evaporation, known as the “angel’s share,” which is 5 to 8 times higher than in Scotland.
Range of Liquor:
This whisky is part of an exclusive range that includes various other limited editions, each with its own unique characteristics. Whether you’re a whisky aficionado or a casual drinker, the range offers something to suit every palate.
