Nose
A floral undertone provides the base for the aromas. Hints of apple and pear lay atop the delicate floral base. A bit of ethanol is present but it doesn’t overtake the other scents.
Taste
Soft and lightweight, though it has a nice mouthfeel. Flavors are subtle and well integrated with one another. As a result, it can be described as simply having a fruity, floral essence.
Finish
Crisp with the fruit and floral characteristics dissipating quickly. A light spice takes their place, and though it’s very soft it lingers pleasantly for some time.
Nose
Good oak spice, lots of fruitiness especially red fruits. Some menthol/eucalyptus sneaks in behind the fruit, making the nose richer and minty like a Ricola lemon-herb lozenge. Smoky tobacco and a touch of proof.
Taste
Leather and sweet herbal oak up front with mild proof heat. The oak quickly turns creamy. Smoky caramel and the eucalyptus sneak up again. There’s plenty of barrel char, verging on feeling like a rye, but there’s enough vanilla to pull it back towards bourbon. Mouthfeel is deceptive – feels thin at first then blossoms into a medium-bodied, slightly syrupy palate with a good proof heat.
Finish
Lots of menthol, the Ricola lozenge note is really kicking in. Long lasting and coating.
Nose
Golden delicious apple-meat and honey. Sweet floral verbena, fresh cut grass, saddle leather, cinnamon and honey.
Taste
Springtime flavors of honeysuckle and orange candy, yellow pound cake, baking spices, lemon gumdrops, and sugar cookies.
Finish
Long and engrossing finish. Complex. Smoky county fair caramel apple sprinkled with walnuts and cinnamon.
